Position Summary:

Job Title: Seat Structures Engineer - Product Development - Entry Level
 
Position Overview/Description:
 
Professional position utilizing engineering education and experience to engage in the design and release of Seat Structures. This includes all aspects of work from pre-programming through launch.  Will be responsible for all phases of engineering, and will interact with other engineers on the design team to coordinate CAD, CAE, and manufacturing operations. 
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Will be applying Six Sigma principles (DMAIC/DFSS) reviewing and signing-off on tool drawings, tooling CAD, and molding simulations; analyzing  and using statistical techniques & software; applying 8D problem solving methodology; applying DFMEA, DOE, and tolerance design tools; signing off on CAD models and drawings and related geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; leading design reviews based on Failure Mode Avoidance; developing and maintaining test plans and reports (DVP&R); liaising with design studio and package engineering to ensure correct surfacing, package and theme
• Will be responsible for the resolution of issues identified by team members in connection with the design and release of Seat Structures
• Will regularly produce design verification plans and reports and perform failure model effect analysis in the course of resolving design issues.

 
Minimum Requirements:
 

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field of study
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
• 1+ years of automotive or engineering experience

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 

• 1+ years of experience in designing and developing Seat Structures
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple “customers” simultaneously
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers at several levels both in written form (Spreadsheets and reports) and verbally (presentation at meetings)
• Experience in the following is preferred:
  • Applying Six Sigma principles (DMAIC/DFSS),
  • Reviewing and signing-off on tool drawings, tool CAD, and stamping simulations,
  • Analyzing and using statistical techniques & software,
  • Applying 8D problem solving methodology,
  • Applying DFMEA, DOE, and tolerance design tools,
  • Signing off on CAD models and drawings and related geometric dimensioning and tolerancing,
  • Leading design reviews based on Failure Mode Avoidance,
  • Maintaining DVP&R and signing-off on DV tests,
  • Liaising with design studio and package engineering to ensure correct surfacing, package and theme
