Product Development (PD) engineers are responsible for delivering exciting products that are world class in cost, quality, function and time to market.  As ONE team, we are committed to delighting our customers and employees by executing consistently while using common global standards, methods and processes with rigor and discipline.

As part of the 32-month Ford College Graduate (FCG) rotational, developmental program you will be provided with the structure (orientation, training opportunities, experiences and feedback) to enhance your technical and professional competencies. Our goal is to support you and your transition into the high performing, inclusive and engaged workforce needed to meet the product development needs of tomorrow.
 
To begin your program, you are assigned a "home" organization based on your interests, background and our business needs. You will be assigned a mentor, a member of PD management within your area, to advise and guide you through a core set of developmental assignments related to your home organization. These assignments are structured to develop your skills and help to build your understanding of your home organization and the product creation process. Your development will be further supported by a number of technical and professional training opportunities. Once you complete the program, you will be placed within your home organization to continue building your engineering career and developing technical expertise.

 

We are currently looking to hire Ford College Graduates for the following areas:
  • Body Exterior Engineering
  • Body Interior Engineering
  • Chassis Engineering
  • Connected Vehicle and Services (CV&S)
  • Digital Innovation (DI)
  • Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE)
  • Electrified Powertrain Engineering (EPE)
  • Global Engine Engineering (GEE)
  • Global Product Planning & Strategy (GPPS)
  • Ford and Lincoln Product Programs
  • Powertrain Controls, Calibrations, and NVH (PCCN)
  • Powertrain Installations (PTI)
  • Transmission & Driveline Engineering (TDE)
  • Research & Advanced Engineering (R&A)
  • Vehicle Engineering (VE)
  • Vehicle Evaluation and Verification (VEV)
     
Minimum Requirements for the Product Development FCG Program: 
 
  • Pursuing A PHD Degree in one of the following fields:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
    • Computer Engineering or Computer Science
    • Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, and other Engineering disciplines in key areas
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Graduation date by August 2016
  • Willing to relocate to South East Michigan
Preferred Requirements:
  • 3.4 overall GPA
  • Involvement with Formula SAE or similar extracurricular activities, strong communication skills, ability to work within diverse teams
  • Previous internship or co-op with Ford
