Candidates for consideration will be responsible for supporting research and developmental efforts in automated vehicle technologies ranging from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to semi- and fully-autonomous driving capabilities. Job responsibilities may encompass:
design and implementation of computer and sensor architectures and interfaces
system integration of data acquisition and data processing for a variety of sensors including camera, lidar, radar, ultrasonics, etc.
development of software toolsets for data collection, analysis, and visualization
algorithm development, implementation, and testing for environment/situation awareness, potentially including multi-sensor fusion, obstacle detection, classification, and simultaneous tracking of multiple objects through complex scenes
code optimization to migrate prototype algorithms to automotive/embedded systems and/or parallelization via GPU architectures
simulation and in-vehicle experimentation for algorithm and software validation
work with the automotive supply base to deliver integrated sensor solutions for production applications
Minimum Requirements:
Ideal candidates should possess a strong interdisciplinary background in science and engineering with solid programming skills.
Minimum of a M.S. in Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Computer Science, or similar field, is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with algorithms at least three of the following areas: image processing, remote sensing, radar signal processing, object detection/classification, sensor fusion, control systems, filter theory and target tracking
Proficiency in multiple contemporary computer programming languages and environments such as C/C++, PERL, Python, Java, OpenGL, Matlab, etc. running on Linux.
Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working in a team-based project from inception to finish across multiple disciplines, e.g., hardware design and implementation, data acquisition and analysis, mathematical modeling, algorithm development, application implementation, etc.
Proficiency in multiple operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, Linux, etc.
Experience with software revision control systems such as GIT, Subversion (SVN), CVS, etc.
Experience with UDP, TCP and network routing
Experience with sensor systems such as lidar, radar, cameras, etc.
Strong foundation in linear algebra, vector analysis, and probability/statistics
Candidates will be expected to:
possess strong oral and written language skills
present results for internal management and at external venues such as conferences
publish technical reports, papers and/or pursue Intellectual Property rights
work collaboratively with other team members and across multiple technical areas
work closely and effectively with external partners – corporations, universities and automotive suppliers
