525 Assembly Leader, Lafayette Assembly Center

Bell Helicopter - Lafayette, Louisiana

Bell Helicopter is currently looking for a 525 Production Leader for the Lafayette Assembly Center (LAC). This position will report to the 525 Value Stream Manager and will have direct reports. The position will be located in Lafayette, Louisiana and a relocation package is offered for this position. Relocation will be required in 2017 (exact date is TBD).

All Team Members at LAC are expected to work together as One Team across functional boundaries. Where qualified and when possible, team members will participate in production activities, to include logistics and kitting and aircraft assembly to insure that a quality product is delivered on-time to the customer.

 

Job Summary

The 525 Assembly Leader is responsible for cabin assembly of the Bell 525 Relentless Helicopter.  As a manufacturing expert, this employee will establish infrastructure requirements to setup the 525 assembly line.  As a leader, this employee will guide and direct employees to meet production schedules within cost and quality standards.   

Primary Position Responsibilities:

·         Lead, direct & coach direct touch employees in alignment with Bell core values

·         Ensure your team adheres to regulations, both internal & external

·         Perform work assignments safely, efficiently & professionally while maintaining quality & cost standards

·         Establish infrastructure requirements (tools, equipment, training, etc) for the new facility

·         Understand & align your team to meet production goals

·         Provide employees with the required tools, training and skills to be successful

·         Communicate performance expectations and provide candid, professional feedback to employees on a routine basis

 

Education: 

·         High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

·         Two years college or trade school in related field preferred, but additional work and supervisory experience may be substituted for higher education

·         Airframe & Powerplant certificate and/or FCC license preferred

Experience:

·         2 years in supervisory or lead position in a manufacturing/technical environment

·         Cross-functional leadership experience may be considered in lieu of manufacturing experience

·         Experience in applying Six Sigma/Lean Principle Tools
