Property Assistant/ Accountant

Position Summary:
OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Property Assistant to join our Overland Park, Kansas Property Management Team !
The Property Assistant (PA) partners with the Property Manager (PM) and is responsible for all aspects of client and tenant reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and maintain positive relationship with property and accounting team.
- Assist in preparing and executing annual property budgets, as directed by the PM.
- Assist in preparing monthly operating statements, as directed by the PM.
- Assist in preparing estimates and reconciliations of tenant operating expenses.
- Assist in collecting all rents due under leases agreements, as directed by the PM.
- Oversee all service contracts and vendor relations as directed by the PM.
- Assist with the Owner’s accounting procedures for reporting, tenant activity and company processes.
- Prepare aged receivables reports and variance analysis. Work with tenants, PM, and Financial Department to clear up aged items.
- Participate in General Management Department initiatives as directed by the PM.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS or Associates Degree
- Experience in receivables, payables, and real estate accounting
- Minimum of three (3) years’ commercial real estate experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Accounting and Finance skills/background, preferred
- Communication and teamwork
- Possesses strong administrative and accounting skillset
- Technology Skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
