Position Review:
Provide controls engineering support to a chemical plant that specializes in large scale paint and resin coatings. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with mechanics to troubleshoot day to day controls-related production equipment issues. 
  • Design, install and program equipment changes to improve our production capability. 
  • Manage changes to our PLC’s and controls infrastructure which includes software updates and preventative maintenance. 
  • Assist in capital projects, which may include design, purchasing, planning, construction management, installation commissioning and start-up. 
  • Periodic phone consultation with production departments during off hours and rotational weekend on call duties.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other appropriate Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley primarily and other PLC’s) and Human Machine Interface (HMI primarily G.E. Proficy iFix & Fix32 software and Allan Bradely Factory Talk Machine Edition)
  • Experience with the Configuration and programming of AC Drives
  • Able to read and understand project related drawings and update P&ID’s
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software
  • Any working knowledge of developing HMI or SCADA applications is a plus
  • Any working knowledge of SQL & Access databases is a plus
  • Experience in an industrial setting or chemical industry is a plus
  • Experience with all types of PLC Networks is a plus
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems is a plus
