Key Responsibilities
This is a highly visible position within the resin operations at the PPG Oak Creek coatings and resins facility. The incumbent is responsible for leading a production and supervisory staff of over 50 associates, coordinating production activities including manufacturing systems and filling operations to maximize the efforts of existing production staff while meeting customers’ requirements. This includes problem solving at all levels of the operation relating to production, safety, training, quality, and other issues. Responsible for creating and maintaining the teamwork needed at all levels of the department to ensure customer and business needs are met and that continuous improvement is occurring utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Quality Tools and other processes. Coordinates/develops the department’s Safety Action Plan, training of associates, and develops existing production supervisors and production associates. Assists in developing the operating budget for the department, initiates and assists on projects needed for production, waste minimization, safety/ergonomics and process improvement.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry or STEM degree; 5 years or more chemical plant production experience; effective human relation skills, strong team building and communication skills as well as ability to proficiently plan/organize and pay attention to details.
