IT HR Professional Apprentice®

The Professional Apprentice® position is located in downtown Cleveland at our Corporate Headquarters location. Position requires full year enlistment and a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week up to 28 hours per week

The Human Capital Engagement Office provides services in organizational development, coaching & learning to the Information Technology (IT) Departments of the Sherwin-Williams Company. This position will support the training function and assist with recruiting related activities as requested.


Essential Functions
Learning
• Identify, plan, direct, implement and assess training programs to support the IT organizations and equip managers and staff with the required skills to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Work with the Manager, IT Organizational & Employee Development in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee/departmental training needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work.
• Evaluate and create yearly training offering documents for all levels of staff to support competency in areas and soft skill development that are critical to the organization.
• Manage vendors providing training to ensure the use of appropriate adult learner techniques and encourage examples and case-studies used during training relate to IT, and aligns with Sherwin values.
• Coordinate training support with Corporate Training & Development Office and Corporate Human Resources.
• Assist in negotiating yearly contracts and/or discounts with vendors and monitor costs
• Register IT personnel requesting training courses.
• Coordinate registrations for GLOC Conference for all IT each spring
• Process invoices using S-W electronic software.

Recruiting
• Post position openings on career sites.
• Interface with and coordinate candidates screening and interviewing
schedules.
• Process recruiting invoices.
• Participate in project work in the areas of job descriptions, skills
profile and creation of behavioral-based questions for interviews.
• Create and maintain a variety of spreadsheets, as needed.
• Learn and develop recruiting skills to participant in the recruiting
process.

Incidental Functions
• Assist with various projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

Position Requirements

Education Required
• Currently enrolled in college degree program and actively working toward
a Bachelor or Master Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Graduation date on or after May 2018
• Work 25-28 hours a week
• Minimum GPA of 2.85
Knowledge & Experience
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills. Visio a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Knowledge of the basic HR function including training.

Personal Attributes
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently after training.
• Ability and initiative to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
