This position is located in downtown Cleveland at our Corporate Headquarters. Position requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week up to 28 hours per week.

The Web Application Developer Professional Apprentice position develops, integrates, and implements applications software in a service provider environment that supports the company business strategies and objectives. Participates in the successful design, development, quality assurance, and implementation of web software applications. Works under the guidance of a Developer while learning how to implement software solutions for our business clients.


Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning
• Actively work to obtain a broad knowledge of new technology, equipment, and systems.

Acquisition & Deployment
• Perform routine programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming standards, methods, and best practices.
• Design application and database components for enhancements and small-sized development projects.

Operational Management
• Maintain and modify web applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
• Provide support for web application problems and issues.

Incidental Functions
• Prepare and lead presentations as requested.
• Research or prototype new tools and/or technologies.
• Time and task management and reporting as necessary.
• Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification
• Currently enrolled in college degree program and actively working toward an Associate, Bachelor or Master Degree in related field.
• Minimum GPA 2.50.
• Graduation date on or after May 2018

Knowledge & Experience
• Knowledge of the entire Software Development Lifecycle.
• Interest in working with customers to learn how to build and formulate business requirements.
• Knowledge of J2EE and Web Application, including Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), Java Servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), JavaScript, and web standards markup.
• Knowledge of Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD).

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
