Manager, IT eCommerce Delivery

The Manager of eCommerce Delivery is responsible to provide leadership and direction for the overall initiation, planning, execution, and reporting of all technical projects assigned within the E-Business Center of Excellence. This position is responsible for the direct oversight and development of the project management, requirements analysis, and QA functions. This requires comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, software delivery methodologies, and process improvement and documentation skills. Works closely with both internal / external stakeholders across the organization to ensure successful project delivery, and that overall success criteria and budget and schedule targets are met.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning

• Manage the team efforts in the planning, design, development and effectuation of improvements with focus on simplification and optimization of processes.
• Meet with clients, peers and decision makers to validate business requirements and project goals, and identify and resolve business process issues.
• Oversee the development of quarterly work plans.
• Drive improvement of all project management and software delivery processes.
• Determine staffing and skills requirements.
• Drive change.

Acquisition & Deployment
• Oversee the management of project, resource, and budget plans.
• Request and allocate resources based on project sizing and budgets.
• Generate project status updates as requested to stakeholders.
• Partner with Center of Excellence leadership to collaborate on program governance, prioritization, and planning activities as needed.
• Lead the resolution of escalated project risks and issues.
• Lead Quality Assurance practice to ensure early and high level of engagement with analysts and development resources.
• Lead scoping and technical requirements functions to clearly define delivery objectives and timelines.
• Collaborate within IT and business owners to ensure timely, quality, and on budget delivery of solutions as well as strategic alignment as necessary.
• Develop and manage the departmental budget and ensuring various business commitments are met.

Operational Management
• Assign or develop and implement project plans to successfully meet objectives.
• Lead the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables for more complex initiatives.
• Assign the development of project plans and schedule to set achievable expectations with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Partner with functional and technical leads to assemble key resources and establish roles and responsibilities to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
• Clearly communicate and keep track of project milestones and status for all levels of the organization.
• Track to resolution, software defects and known issues, with product and engineering teams in order to keep customer aware of how these items may impact their implementation
• Work closely with Vendor Management; evaluate 3rd party vendor suppliers of technical resources; recruit consulting resources to meet the demands of the organization.
• Conduct activities like staffing, performance and resource management, and strategic direction of the team.
• Set employee objectives, monitor and evaluate performance and provide feedback and mentoring.
• Create and maintain development plans for each team member, including training, skills assessment, career planning, and goal planning.

Incidental Functions
• Lead departmental or divisional meetings as requested.
• Prepare and lead presentations as requested.
• Responsible for hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.

• Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday as required.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
• Bachelor degree in IT, Business or related field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience
• 12 years IT experience.
• 6 years management and/or supervisory experience or team responsibility in a dynamic/complex environment.
• 8 years leading digital and/or ecommerce projects.
• 7 years experience as a project leader, portfolio manager or program manager with advanced knowledge and understanding of systems development & project delivery methodology; including planning, cost management, resource management, communications and quality management.
• Ability to lead high pressure, dynamic enterprise environment leveraging expert skills in motivation, facility and influencing to drive results through a team.
• Experience in both Agile and Traditional development methodologies.
