Senior Oracle Applications Developer

Summary of Duties:

Provide technical consulting to management, business users, and technical associates and works closely with other developers to complete requests and implement features. Work as a member of a delivery team to define acceptance criteria for stories and determine estimates in spring planning sessions. Work with development and system teams during technical spikes and determine appropriate course of action. Provide technical and design input for commerce development. Perform complex programming assignments requiring a high aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices. Assist team in designing application and database components for new features. Collaborate with other teams to ensure shared use of standard tools and processes. Assist in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required. Maintain and modify web applications. Make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Foster development of team's cross-functional and collaborative capabilities. Help mentor and coach junior developers and Professional Apprentices. Support and practice code quality through clean coding principles. Work with team to deliver business value through regular spring cycles. Participate in regular delivery team collaboration and ceremonies. Document and share knowledge with development teams. Research new technologies including tools, component and frameworks. Present to management, clients, and peer groups. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with clients and approval of supervisor. Assist with other projects to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of work. Travel less than 10% to attend conferences, training, and visit other facilities as needed.

 


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related filed and five (5) years’ experience in the offered role or five (5) years’ experience as IT Developer, Software Developer, or related role. Experience must include: J2EE and Web Applications including Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), Java Servlets, and Java Server Pages (JSP); HTML and Javascript; Object-Oriented Analysis and Design programming language, such as Java; IBM Websphere Commerce platform; working with customers to build and formuate business requirements; Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern using frameworks such as Struts or SpringMVC; Version control systems, such as GIT; and SQL.
