Job Overview:
 
The Human Resources Manager offers a blend of organizational development, employee relations and recruitment for Private Brands. Strong communication and leadership skills are critical for this position.  This role interacts with senior management on a daily basis on a wide variety of topics providing guidance and support.  The HR Manager creates a culture that values career development, succession planning, coaching and retention. 
 
Perform other duties as assigned.  This position is located in New York, NY.
 
Essential Functions:
 
• Manages all aspects of HR including succession planning, employee relations, compliance, engagement, and recruitment.
• Owns succession planning for all open internal positions, includes managing job postings and coordination of interviews.
• Executes and assists in development of HR strategies to develop talent.
• Engages in talent meetings with executives to understand talent health of organization and to measure readiness and potential.
• Lead the development of all executives though Performance Appraisals, LPRs, supervisors, coaching conversations and succession planning.
• Support Engagement Survey action plan steps. Report findings back to the HR team and partner senior leadership.
• Conduct and coordinate Talent Meetings with senior leadership.
• Provide coaching and counseling to all executives and supervisors.
• Lead the execution of the Responsibility Based Performance program fairly and consistently.
• Through HR analytics use metrics to assist in proactive decision making and to identify opportunities.
• Compile turnover, development moves/promotions, and diversity statistics on a monthly basis. Identify opportunities and develop strategies for improvement.
• Execute Performance Review and Leadership Performance Review process for all executives. Includes conducting Talent Conferences with supervisors and senior leadership and compiling talent data.
• Support diversity initiatives by focusing on the development/career path of diverse executives.
• Analyze current diversity statistics and develop a recruitment strategy to address opportunities.
• Collaborate with Learning and Development on executive training initiatives to enhance talent.
• Maintain knowledge on Human Resources regulations, laws and best practices.
• Leverages strong partnerships at all levels of the organization to obtain results.
• Manage special projects as needed.
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
 
Qualifications:
 
Education/Experience:
 
• Bachelor Degree required, Retail experience preferred.
• 3- 5 years progressive HR generalist experience required.
 
Communication Skills:
 
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong platform skills with ability to address large groups.
 
Mathematical Skills:
 
• Must have above average mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
 
Reasoning Ability:
 
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
Physical Demands:
 
• This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment and may involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
 
Other Skills:
 
• Displays solid interpersonal skills, business knowledge, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Good at working on team collaborations.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
