Senior Splunk Data Analyst & Developer

AT&T is seeking a highly motivated individual experienced as a Splunk Architect with 6 years of Splunk expertise and at least 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise level solutions. As a Splunk Architect at AT&T Entertainment Group, you will primarily be responsible for providing expertise in specific product areas, Splunk, IT Service Intelligence, and HUNK. You will be developing company-facing CI/CD pipelines, Automated Systems, End to End Customer Experience monitoring, and you will be an evangelist for our DevOps philosophy as you coordinate with and support other internal tech teams. Everything you do will be aimed at solving the big problems, complex problems and sometimes big and complex problems our customers face every day you’re your technical expertise including hands on solution development and implementation experience. You will need to be a Team Player with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills.

 

Your work matters. We’re looking for a Splunk Architect to:

Working with various stakeholders design, implement, and support a Splunk infrastructure for our Next Generation Video solution; including deployment, products, apps, reports, alerts, and dashboards. Installation of search heads, deployment servers, indexers & Enterprise Security App, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence when required.  Perform scripted installation of all Splunk components, Manage Splunk knowledge objects (Apps, Dashboards, Saved Searches, Scheduled Searches, Alerts, etc.). Role requires significant interaction with many different teams across a global company.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and improve an enterprise Splunk environment from early stages to a mature implementation through participating with Agile SCRUM teams to deliver monitoring and data analytics solutions
  • Support large-scale deployments across multiple Data Centers, with data feeds from multiple on premise data centers and Cloud based applications
  • Execute standard procedures for the administration, content management, change management, version/patch management, and lifecycle management of the platforms
  • Report weekly on indexing, search and alert usage by groups
  • Place emphasis on quality while driving toward expected results
  • Responsible for documenting strategic plans, issues and resolutions via ticket system for present/future reference

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years in logging and monitoring engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years hands on experience in engineering and supporting large scale Splunk or similar event logging solutions for large corporations is preferred.
  • Splunk Architect certification is a plus.
  • At least 1 year experience in Hadoop technology configuration and management is preferred.
  • Understanding of Network Firewalls, Load-balancers, and complex network designs.
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Hands on experience with database engineering and support.
  • Good command on Python, Perl, SQL, Regex and Shell scripting is required.
