Assists in meeting all project completion schedules, labor and material cost budgets as directed. This may consist of multiple projects simultaneously depending upon size and/or duration.
Ability to run a project of at least 7 – 15 personnel with minimal direction from the Cabling Group Manager.
Maintains daily time, material and event record for job status information and provides documentation, reports and information to the Cabling Group Manager/Cabling Engineer/Cabling Supervisor as directed.
Insures quality of workmanship, tracks production and monitors safety procedures.
Insures the accuracy of time sheets for those employees working directly for him/her.
Completes any disciplinary actions necessary for any of his/her direct reports with assistance of the Cabling Supervisor.
Develops work around procedures for maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customer/client, lack of materials or absenteeism in conjunction with the project schedule.
Assists in realizing changes to the scope of work and keeping the Cabling Supervisor updated.
Furthers oneself though on-going education: either corporate or specialty courses.
Assures and enforces a comprehensive safety program in accordance with the company’s commitment to provide every employee with a safe and healthy work environment.
Completes/Performs weekly Safety Coaching Observations in accordance to company policy.
Must have demonstrated Supervisory experience in network or Voice/Data system installations.
Have a thorough working knowledge of reading blueprints, specifications and system documentation.
Experience in commonly used installation, termination, testing procedures and standards.
Knowledge of associated hardware, equipment and specifications as they pertain to Network Topologies and/or Telecommunication Voice/Data Systems. Ability to use Microsoft applications (Excel/Word/Outlook) as well as the ability to estimate scheduling of material and labor.
Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of ten (10) years technical experience in commonly used installation, termination, testing procedures and standards.
Knowledge of associated hardware, equipment and specifications as they pertain to Network Topologies and/or Telecommunication Voice/Data Systems. Provide team leadership, In-Depth knowledge of termination equipment, methodologies, and splicing techniques.
Areas of knowledge must also include: physical ability to lift 50 pounds, cable termination, testing, cable rack preparation, layout and installation, and documentation.
A valid BICSI Technician certification is required.
Five additional years of experience may be substituted for certification.
Required Clearance: Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance
