As our Director of Facilities & Maintenance, you'll provide vision, leadership and direction for Facilities Infrastructure for Nike's Distribution organization in Memphis which includes large distribution and fulfillment centers, both Nike-owned and leased, as well as 3PL-operated. Your responsibility will be leading the maintenance teams supporting both the MHE and facilities infrastructure. You'll use your past experience and expertise to create and drive Facilities & Maintenance industry best practice and innovation through the distribution operations.
You'll provide effective leadership to large teams working across multiple disciplines and a 24x7 shift. Primary focus in this area should be increasing bench strength and competencies of a team and pro-active performance management through establishing measurable goals and objectives.
You'll continually assess Facilities and MHE infrastructure for optimum performance, and leverage resources to improve efficiencies, increase communication and drive a clear line of sight between engineering, maintenance, IT and operations.
You'll direct and lead the successful implementation of Facilities management strategies that support distribution goals and objectives relative to quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
You'll provide strategic leadership of the facilities maintenance department, which encompasses the support of distribution centers across Memphis and North America You’ll partner with Engineering and IT on Warehouse Control System maintenance and functionality and provide SME support on projects and implementations.
You’ll drive compliance with the global governance and intake process to ensure adoption of standard processes and project management and oversight within Nike’s Memphis distribution centers.
You'll assess and provide recommendations for predictive and preventive maintenance programs, upgrades and enhancements to MHE equipment.
You'll manage department operating budget and assure conformity with facility capital budget. You'll assure compliance with Nike's procurement process in purchasing/bidding and vendor relations. In addition, you'll assist Finance team with development and negotiation of bids and contracts relating to Facilities and MHE.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Computer Science, Business or a related area and at least 10 years' experience in distribution or manufacturing facilities management or an additional 2 years' in lieu of a degree
• Extensive knowledge of complex material handling and sortation equipment and warehouse control systems.
• Extensive experience managing facilities infrastructure for large, multi-facility networks or campuses.
• Requires experience with complex electrical systems, generator backup power, HVAC systems, and construction. Renewable energy experience is a plus.
• Experience managing 3rd party vendor services such as construction contractors, landscaping, housekeeping and janitorial, foodservice, fitness and wellness, HVAC, and powered motor vehicle fleets.
• Extensive experience with partnering with procurement and negotiating infrastructure support contracts.

• Ability to demonstrate sound process improvement/excellence knowledge and principles
• Must have excellent working relationship and professional respect among industry personnel at national or regional level, proven track record in managing or working within a multi-team environment and management within industry in medium to large sized companies
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills and ability to manage large and complex projects.
• Experience requirements include at least 5 years in a management/leadership role. Proven success in hiring and developing a team of diverse individuals
• Requires a high tolerance for ambiguity and energy to navigate complex organizational structures.
