Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

Position Summary:

SUMMARY
The Bookkeeper will provide accounting support for the property management team, and function as a key member of the management team.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Make collections calls
  • Enter cash receipts
  • Enter billing adjustments
  • Perform tenant ledger reconciliations
 
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
  • Enter invoices
  • Ensure proper audit trail and supporting documentation
  • Maintain sales information
  • Collect sales reports
  • Enter sales into accounting system
 
LEASE ANALYSIS
  • Review leases and leasing activity on permanent leases and ensure accurate billing
  • Review and/or calculate additional charges as applicable
 
PAYROLL
  • Coordinate with HR/Payroll Dept. in reporting weekly, vacation and sick hours
  • Review and maintain department employee assignments and time allocations
  • Assist the property accountant as needed
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, preferred
  • 2 – 3 years bookkeeping experience in a retail environment, preferred
 
KNOWLEDDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Microsoft Office product knowledge
  • Excel and real estate accounting software, preferred
 
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS
  • Sitting at the computer for long periods of time
