Downloads and calculates initial order quantities for new catalog launches.
Prepares purchase orders and approves orders up to $20,000.
Performs bulk buy analysis to determine vendor’s future availability of items, re-negotiates for a better price on an item based on annual usage.
Evaluates back order, line fill and “to buy” reports to resolve line fill gaps.
Vendor Communications:
Responsible for maintaining relationships/communicating expectations etc. with vendors.
Participates (on as needed basis) in quarterly vendor review sessions.
Works with Inventory Expeditors/Merchandising/Vendors to achieve timely resolutions to Quality Control issues.
Prepares vendor forecasts
Enforces requirements outlined in Vendor Manual (i.e. timely submission of charge backs and vendor incidents, etc).
Plans for cyclical depletion of stock at the end of catalog programs so as to limit SPP and client liability.
Identifies items that should be discontinued and communicates this to the Account Manager and Buyers. Specifically responsible for liquidation efforts related to inactive discontinued inventory
Continuously improves personal use and knowledge of the Inventory Control system in order to respond to inquiries for inventory information regarding order/item status from internal customers in program management, sales and client services by looking up data in Inventory Control system.
Recognizes when models are not forecasting accurately in the system and notifies management with discoveries.
Meets with Program Managers to discuss upcoming events, catalog updates, resolve issues, etc.
May participate in projects or serves on task forces upon request.
Attends industry shows and conferences (on an as needed basis).
Participates in annual physical inventory count.
Updates Planner Community monthly notes regarding line fill variances.
Qualifications
Minimum two years of inventory planning or merchandising experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Proficient with MS Office software, especially Excel, Access, and Word.
Good understanding of inventory forecasting methods
Detail oriented
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
Strong interpersonal skills
Basic math aptitude
Strong organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
