Lead Data Analyst | Lead Business Partner Store Ops

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Apply business acumen, problem solving, technical oversight and deep quantitative / analytical skills to build a solution that delivers operational accuracy to Target’s logistics store operations.
The primary responsibilities include; critically evaluating existing business processes by applying a combination of lean, six-sigma and analytical tools, conducting exploratory data analysis to validate operational hypotheses and draw inferences, design analytical solutions that measure the efficiency and impact of operational changes to logistics processes, define KPIs that track the health of operations and design reporting that supports business ownership in stores |
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conducts exploratory and root cause analysis to influence key business decisions on future process changes by identifying data requirements and data sources
· Extracts and formats data for analysis using data query tools
· Generate business critical insights using a mix of exploratory analysis techniques and business intuition
· Consult on data visualization by creating mock up reports using Domo, Tableau or Excel
· Validate results through store visits, conference calls with business SMEs and field partners
· Clearly communicate issues and/ or results using data visualization tools
· Build next generation solutions for Target stores that are scalable and locally relevant
· Use stores knowledge and experience to create test cases and measurements to be run within stores
· Makes a determination on changes or updates needed for roll out using relevant key performance indicators
· Support similar initiatives on other upstream inventory accuracy teams to ensure an end to end view of impact of process and system changes
· Communicates progress, milestones, challenges against plan, and escalation of issues to a wide group of stakeholders including but not limited to leaders, process owners, product owners, scrum master
· Clearly defines scope, methodology/action plan, timelines and stakeholders

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Four year college degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics) with 5 years of work experience
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Conversant with exploratory analysis techniques
· Conversant with relational databases
· SQL Knowledge
· Ability to query and format data as required for analysis
· Familiar with data visualization tools and techniques
· Strong planning, organizational and implementation skills
· Experience with data visualization in Excel, Tableau or Domo
· Excellent communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
· Ability to take initiative and work independently
· Ability to travel as required
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
· One to two years of Stores, Finance, MP or Logistics experience
· Previous experience in end-user computing environments
· Six Sigma/Lean experience
· Tableau or Domo knowledge
· Exposure to statistical or analytical tools like SAS, R, and Python | |
