Responsible for providing excellent customer service; aiding the customer with online purchases for specialty products; proactively chatting with customers to answer questions; providing customers with suggestions and attempting to convert sales; helping customers understand the specific brands and products by communicating the features, advantages, and benefits of the merchandise; exhibiting extensive product knowledge based on training received; performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Chat online with macys.com customers seeking assistance and recommendations for product selections.
Close sales, upsell, and assist with checkout.
Maintain product and policy knowledge.
Maintain system knowledge of macys.com and bloomingdales.com.
Work queues for Ask & Answer questions on macys.com.
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, and feel; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and walk; requires close vision.
Other Skills:
Ability to provide outstanding customer service to external and internal customers on a consistent basis; computer navigation and keyboarding skills.Strong analytical skills, excellent decision making and follow-up skills; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to complete financial transactions acutely and proficiently.
Work Hours:
