Specialist I, Phone Interview

Overview:
Macy's, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Phone Interview Specialist. Phone Specialist I conducts interviews for designated areas, makes hiring decisions, dispositions candidates post interview and marks as hired once on-boarded.
Perform other duties as assigned. This position is based out of Springdale, Ohio.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct phone interviews utilizing computer based guides with a high degree of accuracy and integrity; maintain candidate focus to gather all information within the designated timeframe; evaluate candidate interview responses to make an appropriate hiring decision.
- Update candidates’ post interview status using the Taleo applicant tracking system. Maintain stores’ orientation schedules.
- Call candidate to complete application or schedule interview.
- Cancel in store interviews in cases of emergency closures.
- Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desire to share knowledge and solve problems.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to evaluate multiple pieces of data and reach a sound decision on job fit; results-oriented with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands: This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment. May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Other Skills: High level of skill and comfort in using computers and technology; sense of urgency and ability to prioritize a changing workload; understand the importance of adherence to confidentiality and legal compliance standards.
Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. Which includes being flexible to occasional nights and weekends.
