The Professional Apprentice® position is located in downtown Cleveland at our Corporate Headquarters location. Position requires full year enlistment and a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week up to 28 hours per week

An Application Performance Management (APM) Professional Apprentice™ works with a mentor to implement, execute, analyze and support APM tools and solutions in a global environment. These tools relate to Performance test automation for application and tools for monitoring, alerting and diagnosing application performance . They include Jmeter, Performance Center, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, kibana and the Hadoop ecosystem. May also help with OS-level scripting and tool customization at an operational level.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning
• Analyze, document, and recommend improvements to existing workflows, processes, and standards.

Acquisition & Deployment
• Participate, at the task level, in the implementation of CM solutions and tools to support software development efforts.

Operational Management
• Participate in the configuration, operation and maintenance of the APM tools.
• Assist team members in monitoring and addressing issues with APM tools.
• Assist with creation and execution of performance test and monitoring applications.
• Improve knowledge and skills in application performance management to become more competent and able to accept greater responsibilities.

Incidental Functions
• Assist with various projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
• Currently enrolled in college degree program and actively working toward an Associate, Bachelor or Master Degree in related field.
• GPA 2.5 or above
• Graduation date on or after May 2018

Knowledge & Experience
• Basic understanding of Java and J2EE applications.
• Exposure to Windows, Linux and Solaris operating systems.

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products.
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

• Ability to learn quickly and independently.
