The R&D Lab Coordinator supports the lab facilities by performing various functions including, but not limited to: Purchasing, Timekeeping, Data Analysis, Fixed Asset Management, and Continuous Improvement.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
• PURCHASING
o Using Oracle Purchasing, purchase lab supplies, substrate, containers, services, etc. so the laboratory may function more efficiently. Managing and monitor inventories and execute purchases when minimum quantities are met.
o Act as liaison with Corporate Purchasing to ensure best pricing for laboratory materials.
o Initiate new vendor configuration, obtain proper tax information and other data for set up.
o Source, obtain, analyze and make recommendations on quotations for materials and services to meet laboratory requests.
o Collect, prepare, and process all of the laboratory’s invoices for approval and payment.  Maintain filing system for purchases and related purchases. Reconcile Oracle three-way match, identify problems and resolve invoicing/payment issues in acceptable time frame. 
o Troubleshoot inquiries regarding charges that appear on General Ledger, using Fact Finder application.
o Process eExpense and eFunds as appropriate for request
o Be liaison to Facility shipping and receiving department to ensure appropriate delivery of supplies and materials.
o Engage temporary agencies to acquire contractors on an as-needed basis


• DATA ANALYSIS
o Use Business Objects to provide monthly data analysis and lab reports
o Serve as secondary Lab Catalyst administrator to keep system running smoothly.


• PAYROLL
o Troubleshoot issues for Technical organization.
o Act as “super user” for Kronos payroll application.
o Process historical edits.
o Arrange vacation allotment edits (according to employee offer – exceptions to policy)


• FIXED ASSET MANAGEMENT
o Purchase assets as approved.
o Respond to Financial Shared Services regarding Asset inquiries (closing of project to include date of equipment operation, asset location, depreciation cost center, etc.)
o Maintain Asset Records.


• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
o Serve as ISO Management Representative (or similar function) for lab.
o Lead ISO Internal Auditor for site.
o Analyze department work flow and make suggestions on process improvements for saving time and money.
o Lead special projects for the lab

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
a. Required:
•  High school diploma
b. Preferred:
•  Some college Business Administration and/or Accounting classes

 

2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
a. Required:
• Ability to adapt to change, as in systems upgrades, differences or changes
• Communication skills, must be able to communicate effectively to all levels or the organization and with different cultures of people.
• Proficient in a variety of computer application tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Work, and PowerPoint 
b. Preferred:
• Proficient with Business Objects

 

3. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
• Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
• May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Work surfaces may include concrete.
• Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

 

4. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

a. Preferred:
• Microsoft Office applications
• Financial software applications
• Business software applications

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and/or Access)
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and wear a respirator as required.
• Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status.
