Tooling Buyer / Planner

The Buyer/Planner manages procurement of materials and/or services to support the company's purchasing programs. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs. These products and services are to be secured at a competitive cost with quality standards and lead times that are consistent with company policy and performance standards. The position is also responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services. 

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and a minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience is required
• Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools.
• Arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required.
• Maintains close coordination with plant engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities
• Negotiate master agreements, VMI’s, consignment, and inventory levels on consumable products with respect to cost, quality, and delivery.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding shipping performance, open POs, expedite/defer requests, and other issues.
• Resolve problem shipments with suppliers, receiving issues, packaging standards, etc.
• responsible for all purchasing activities and vendor management
• Qualify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history., consignment, and inventory levels on consumable products with respect to cost, quality, and delivery.
