Manage methods, practices, and systems to ensure the most efficient flow of materials from sourcing to production processes
- Effective forecasting
- Drive positive company results through strategic negotiations, controlling costs and inventories, developing and maintaining strong vendor partnerships
- Implement processes to support current future business opportunities
- Reviews and analyzes vendor performance in accordance with contract specifications; evaluates information on new processes.
- Develop and lead strategies for sourcing and procurement, supplier qualification and selection processes, negotiation, and the fundamentals of Procurement execution
- Contacts vendors to discuss the procurement and delivery materials, supplies, tools and equipment. Trace overdue deliveries; arranges changes in delivery, adjustments for incorrect or damaged supplies, and the return of excess materials for credit
- Conduct significant analysis into supply chain data to help drive continuous improvement
- Maintains up to date source lists and determines appropriate sources of supply
- Support operations; specifically generating information related to downtime and specific purchasing metrics (on time trucks, short orders)
- Build contingency plans for key items while ensuring both regulatory compliance and food safety

Education:

High school diploma or GED required
Related Experience/Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years procurement experience
- A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, conditional format, formulas) preferred
- ERP experience preferred
- Experience managing processes and driving results
- Experience in a fast paced environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels
- Vendor management
- Bias for results
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
