The Seasonal Background Check Research Coordinator will conduct phone evaluations and employment adjudications. The Coordinator will also be researching and responding to field inquiries regarding Background Checks and/or Drug Screening. Other administrative duties as assigned.
This position is based out of Springdale at Progress Place, OH.
Essential Functions:
• Conduct phone evaluations with candidates regarding information submitted on employment applications; Information would be including, but not limited to, criminal conviction history.
• Conduct phone evaluations with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality and integrity
• Maintain candidate focus to gather all information within the designated timeframe
• Evaluate candidate responses to make an appropriate business decision while remaining compliant with all Federal, State, Local laws and EEOC and other agencies guidance’s relating to Employment background check policies
• Make sound employment adjudication decisions to mitigate legal risk
• Adhere to all department guidelines and procedures
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Prior experience in conducting applicant interviews and/or pre-employment screening preferred, but not required.
• Prior Human Resources experience a plus, but not required.
Communication Skills:
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with outside vendors and internal clients at all levels.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Reasoning Ability:
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Retail business acumen; understanding how retail organizations operate and how roles work together.
• Must possess the ability to prioritize a changing workload, with a high sense of urgency.
Physical Demands:
• This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment. May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Must possess:
• Sound judgment and ability to properly handle highly confidential information.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding the importance of adherence to confidentiality and legal compliance standards required.
• A results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to maintain and uphold strict confidentiality and legal compliance standards.
Work Hours:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
• Available to work standard business hours with an evening shift once every two weeks and two Saturdays with advance notice.
