The Architectural Coatings North America Financial Analyst will be a member of the SBU’s Segments Finance organization. The position will play a key role in segments activities which include monitoring financial performance and providing financial direction to help the business achieve strategic goals and initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly reports, deviation analysis, explanation of performance drivers/opportunities, brand profitability analysis as well as zone/region analysis.

  • Responsible for monthly sales estimates for segments.

  • Planning, preparation, and implementation of annual segment budget process. 

  • Provide any ad hoc analysis as required by segments. This includes detailed product and customer profitability analysis, cost review, etc.

  • Oversee the ACT process for segments.

  • Own the accounting activities/processes involving sundries marketing expenditure, vendor coop funds and rebates.

     

    This position supports the Segment organizations and will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager - Segments.  The analyst will work closely in a team in conjunction with Sales Managers, Marketing personnel, Accounting Services, Supply Chain, and Purchasing.

Experience and Education: 

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business related field and at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. 

Functional and Technical Skills:

  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability provide detailed information to management in a summarized and succinct manner. 

  • Must have strong leadership potential and ability to analyze and interpret financial data and determine appropriate course of action. 

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to react quickly to change.

  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, Access and Power Point.

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase Reporting/Hyperion Planning preferred by not mandatory.

  • Systems used include: SAP / Hyperion Essbase / Cognos
