Key Responsibilities
The Demand Planning Manager – PMC USCA is responsible for forecasting demand to support the business in US and Canada worth $220MM in sales. The position exists to ensure the SBU’s ability to provide excellent product availability and superior customer service to the business, while also minimizing the working capital investment. Specific responsibilities include:
Utilize SBU software to project sales history and customer information into a SKU forecast by warehouse location to enable product manufacturing according to net requirements.
Work with PPG Sales Management and Marketing to coordinate new product launches and branding changes, development of S&OP forecasts, and address supply chain concerns.
Ensure that proper forecasting system parameters are set to deliver expected results.
Work with the Inventory Planning Manager on parameter settings to align the demand planning parameters with the rest of the supply chain.
Manage a migration from our current Demand Planning process to the SAP APO DP process.
Maintain various databases to provide information to individual accounts and update SBU Software and Scorecards.
Lead various projects to reduce working capital and improve forecast accuracy.
Participate on cross-SBU teams as warranted to ensure acceptable service levels to Architectural and Refinish customers.
Work closely with zone managers to develop a deep working knowledge of their supply chain needs.
Provide supporting documentation for the S&OP Executive Review and the Demand Planning Meetings.
Identify and participate in building future alignment and harmonization with the USCA Architectural Business Unit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or Supply Chain field is required. APICS certification a plus.
Candidate must have at least one year experience with SAP DP (Demand Planning) in the APO module.
The successful candidate will need strong Microsoft Excel and Access skills.
The incumbent will have leadership and communication skills to evoke action from a diverse group, many of whom do not have a direct reporting relationship to the incumbent.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with SBU leadership regarding supply chain issues, options, and reactions.
Position will be located in G.O. (Pittsburgh, PA)
