AT&T is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Global Business - Public Sector Solutions team. As a Network Engineer, you will work in a cloud-based environment to realize prototype and production-level systems. Network Engineers will work within a technical team to enable cybersecurity engineers to discover and document security threats as well as help software developers to prototype vulnerabilities and defenses. In this position, you will work as a member of a technical team, while also being responsible for independent tasks. This includes interaction with cross-functional peers in AT&T, vendors, and customers. Personable people with excellent collaborative skills and time management will thrive in this position
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field from an accredited university.
At least six years of experience in network engineering, including solutions engineering, concept development, and systems architecture definition.
Hands-on configuration and real world experience with enterprise class physical and virtual routers and switch product lines including Arista, Brocade, Cisco, and Juniper.
Understanding of enterprise management of converged networks, capacity planning, performance analysis and network tuning. In depth knowledge of TCP, UDP, IP, VLAN, VRF, DNS, HTTP, and QoS a must.
Comfortable at Linux Command line.
Ideal candidates will also have:
Experience in the research, development, build, and demonstration of proof-of-concept systems and/or trials.
Experience using Python with preference for candidates with additional language skills.
Experience with an IT automation language such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
Experience with software defined networks (SDN).
Experience with cloud technologies, especially OpenStack, OpenContrail, and/or OpenDaylight.
Experience with virtualization, especially Ubuntu KVM.
