This position ensures that spare parts service levels established are met or exceeded by setting and maintaining minimum and maximum inventory levels per spare part.
This position is also responsible for the administration of the cycle count process to ensure it is in compliance with the Textron Financial Policy and that all business activities are in compliance with Export Control laws and regulations for the Bell Helicopter Supply Center.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Maintains inventory levels to support or exceed company goals and objectives related to Service levels of all sales orders and total inventory turns in US dollars;
  • Enhances the inventory process at Bell Helicopter Supply Center (BHSC) both from a customer service and financial efficiency point of view. Use software to monitor demand and characteristics of inventory. Report to Supply Center management on stock levels;  
  • Investigates and report all inventory discrepancies whether they are from inbound receipts, outbound shipments, stock difference, or cycle count variance;  
  • Establishes and maintains knowledge of BHTI inventory and order processing system (SAP) to be able to educate the office staff on any new enhancement regarding system processes. The knowledge involves CRM, IM and WM, hence about 5% of the work activities involved will be in the warehouse; 
  • Administrates the cycle count process and reconciles the differences, report the metrics to BHTI-FW CSS Finance and Supply Center management;  
  • Holds responsibility for supporting the GTC Department to maintain compliance logs as well as adapting any compliance changes including export licenses. This requires constant monitoring of SAP GTS to ensure uninterrupted smooth daily business activities;  
  • Designs and creates data reports supporting the Amsterdam business requirements.
 
PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: 
  • Communicates and co-ordinates with the BHTI-FW CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) by supplying the solid criteria to maintain the inventory service levels because all Bell Global Inventory Control is monitored by BHTI-FW Gains Forecast system in the Head Office; 
  • Coordinates with all functional areas in the Supply Center to assure accurate and timely processing of all system-related transactions having an impact on the service levels and the turn rates. Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure goals are met;  
  • Interfaces with the relevant departments of BHTI-FW headquarters to resolve all the errors in orders, shipments and inventory conversions, also submit request to Master Data for proper changes in SAP; 
  • Collaborates with warehouse employees for cycle-count, batch management activities and scrapping materials to ensure goals are met.
 
  
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASURES: 
  • The position is accountable for meeting or exceeding service levels for filling the sales orders;  
  • Responsible for calculating and optimizing the inventory turn rates;  
  • Ensures inventory policies and data reports are accurate and reliable;  
  • Ensures shipments are conform Global Trade Compliance guide lines;  
  • Keeps the work station safe and tidy to maintain a professional appearance;

  • High School or University education;
  • Minimum 5 years experience on analytical position (data, costs, inventory analysis, etc.);
  • Knowledge of US and EU Export Controls;
  • Compliance Ability to effectively communicate across cultures;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills;
  • SAP knowledge especially SD and MM;
  • Excellent PC skills (especially in Excel and Access – Visual Basic for Apps is a plus);
  • Fluent Dutch and English.
