Government System Design Engineer

AT&T - OAKTON, Virginia

We are seeking an experienced NETWORK ENGINEER to support Cisco networking for a US Government customer.

Work Location: Oakton, VA with occasional travel to Bluemont, VA.

Required: 5 years of Network engineering experience with Cisco Routers/Switches. Experience with VOIP OR Cisco Call Manager, and SIP trunking. Session Border Controller experience (desired). Security experience helpful -- able to handle basic security functions on as needed basis (e.g. Firewall rules and administration). Able to work with AT&T mobility support services and other groups in trouble management situations (i.e., handling circuit, routing or similar issues). Must have the ability to effectively communicate, and troubleshoot problems. Good with people. Willing to jump in to help in surge situations.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.

CCIE Certification Required

Desired:

• Minimum 5 years experience in communications service feature and enterprise systems design, development, integration, evaluation and test of enterprise-wide IT systems and services.
• CCNA OR CCNP CERTIFICATION
• Developing and implementing plans.
• Must have proven ability to understand the broad picture (customer needs and service architectures), to analyze the inter-relationships of the multiple elements needed to implement complex communications services, and to embrace technical details (e.g., system engineering requirements and service flows.)
