Assist site leadership to report and drive continuous improvement in: sanitation, food safety, quality and regulatory
compliance.
Work with management, sales and customers as needed to understand and reduce product returns and complaints and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Participate in the development of food safety and quality Distribution Center specific policies and procedures.
Manage the internal audit function for the assigned sites and ensure effectiveness of the corrective and preventative action process within the framework of the US Foods internal audit program.
Support certification and surveillance GFSI audit and work with facilities to implement corrective actions.
Maintain communication with certification body for all inquiries related to audit results and appeals.
Prepare and evaluate monthly scorecard and review with related facilities, areas and regions.
Support regulatory compliance with USDA, FDA, State and local authorities.
Review Food Safety System reassessments, validations and verifications.
Review consistency for labeling compliance with USDA/FDA regulations as needed.
Manage all regulatory visit and provide responses to non-compliance records.
Collaborate with other FSQA staff and other cross-functional teams to find innovative ideas and approaches, with the goal of improving food safety and quality performance.
Frequent travel (60-80%), including regular overnight travel required.

Education/Training: 4 year college degree in food safety, public health, science or equivalent experience required.
Related Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive relevant experience in driving business results in food safety, quality or regulatory compliance required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess extensive knowledge and proficiency in the development, use and application of key Food safety, quality, regulatory and business metrics, data and performance analysis and techniques used to drive performance (including but not limited to audits, process controls, Food Safety and Sanitation Programs, Regulatory requirements, etc); must be able to work independently with limited supervision and outstanding initiative and drive for success; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills for large and small groups; must possess pronounced business acumen, and be able to facilitate effective interaction across all levels, up to and including executive leadership; intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is required; must possess keen analytical insight and ability, and be able to effectively communicate complex concepts, figures, statistics and metrics in an impactful manner.
