Position Summary:

DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a Vice President to join our Public Institutions team located in Washington, DC.

About Public Institutions: Jones Lang LaSalle’s Public Institutions group identifies and implements strategies that allow public sector organizations to fully leverage their real property in close alignment with their organizational missions. Projects vary greatly in subject and complexity - the group’s areas of expertise include:

  • Real estate strategy
  • Public-private partnerships
  • Financial and strategic feasibility analysis
  • Transaction Management (Acquisitions/Dispositions/Sale-Leaseback/Enhanced-Use Leasing)
  • Development advisory and oversight, including large-scale, mixed-used development and re-development
  • Analysis of financing / ownership structures
  • Asset and portfolio management
  • Highest and best use studies
  • Energy savings / sustainability efforts

PI employs more than 250 professionals in locations throughout the U.S. and abroad, with a proven track record of success conducting work for more than 200 government and higher education clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage client relationships, including communications and meeting management
  • Lead significant client engagements
  • Advise on all aspects of large-scale public sector projects, including feasibility, development, construction, finance and legal document review, and programs, including process improvement and strategy assignments
  • Business development, including development of new relationships and identification of new opportunities in federal agency real estate consulting
  • Market and sell team’s real estate services
  • Review and analyze legal documents, financial reports, and operating plans as part of the due diligence process, negotiations, and/or ongoing portfolio management
  • Develop pro forma financial models based on analysis of economic, demographic and real estate market data
  • Lead highest and best use analysis and project feasibility analysis on a variety of real estate types
  • Prepare client deliverables, including reports and presentations
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate or related field; MBA/MPA preferred
  • At least six years of experience with commercial real estate; preferably involving federal government agencies
  • Significant client, project and team management experience, including demonstrated client management experience of over $1M/year
  • Experience selling complex real estate advisory services;  demonstrated sales experience and formal sales training preferred
  • Experience preparing responses to federal Requests for Proposals/Qualifications
  • Established relationships in the commercial real estate industry and the federal government preferred
  • Experience with real estate feasibility and economic impact analysis
  • Extensive experience creating and analyzing development pro-formas
  • Experience creating and evaluating development solicitations
  • Leadership experience on real estate advisory assignments
  • Strong financial/analytical skills related to real estate
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
